Cub Cadet 5252 60 inch mower deck mounting
For some reason I cannot get my mower deck attached properly. It will not allow me to raise and lower it. I've search for the operation and installation instructions but they don't tell me how to properly attach it. I need the instructions from the mounting bracket that goes with the mower, but I cannot find that anywhere. I'm open to suggestions.

Re: Cub Cadet 5252 60 inch mower deck mounting
mjtheriault: I made this instruction guide for my own personal use after I bought my 5254 at an auction and had NO idea how to attach the deck! After 2 times of fighting with it, I started taking these notes and hope it may help. If you aren't clear on anything, please email me at mjkkanderson@gmail and I will try to help you.
DECK INSTALLATION
MUCH EASIER IF TRACTOR IS BLOCKED UP AND THE REAR TIRES ARE REMOVED!!!
1.) REMOVE PINS FROM REAR WHEELS ON DECK SO THEY CAN PIVOT. GREASE DECK PULLEYS (4 PLACES), LINKAGE PIVOT BALL JOINTS, WHEEL BUSHINGS AND PIVOTS. REMOVE FRONT LONG ROLLER ON FRONT OF DECK AND GREASE.
2.) IF REAR TIRES ARE NOT REMOVED, SLIDE DECK UNDER TRACTOR FROM THE RIGHT SIDE. HOLD THE SOLID REAR LIFTING LINK UP SO THAT IT CLEARS THE REAR TIRE ON THE DISCHARGE SIDE OF THE DECK. ONCE PAST THE REAR TIRE LAY IT ON THE GROUND TOWARD THE BACK TIRE. IF REAR TIRES ARE REMOVED, THE DECK CAN BE SLID UNDERNEATH FROM EITHER SIDE.
3.) ROUGHLY CENTER THE DECK. INSTALL LARGE U-BOLT INTO FRONT CARRIER AND ONTO DECK HOOKS.
4.) GREASE BOTH U-JOINTS AND THE FEMALE PART OF THE SQUARE SLIDE ON THE REMOVEABLE DRIVE SHAFT. INSTALL THE DRIVE SHAFT ONTO DECK. SLIDE DECK BACK AND ATTACH TO SPLINED OUTPUT SHAFT OF TRANSMISSION.
5.) DISCHARGE SIDE OF DECK: POSITION REAR LIFT LINK IN APPROXIMATE POS’N. THE REAR LINK PIN HOLES WILL NOT LINE UP YET. INSTALL THE (2) FRONT ARMS ONTO FRONT PIN.
6.) GAS TANK SIDE OF DECK: INSTALL REAR LIFT LINK INTO FRONT HOLE OF LIFT ARM. WILL PROBABLY REQUIRE LOWERING 3 POINT TO ALLOW HOLES TO LINE UP. BE SURE TO INSERT CLEVIS PIN CORRECTLY SO IT WON’T RUB ON GAS TANK. INSTALL THE (2) FRONT ARMS ONTO THE FRONT PIN.
7.) FINISH INSTALLING THE REAR LIFT LINK ON THE DISCHARGE SIDE OF THE DECK BY STARTING TRACTOR AND SLOWLY RAISING HYDRAULIC LIFT WHILE WATCHING FOR THE PIN HOLES TO LINE UP. INSTALL PIN FROM BACK SIDE.
8.) REPLACE ANTI-SWIVEL PINS ON REAR WHEELS OF DECK.

Re: Cub Cadet 5252 60 inch mower deck mounting
Yes, they should pivot with the pin removed. I would soak with some PB Blaster and then use a brass rod and hammer them out to remove them so they can be scotch brited and greased up! Good luck and let me know if you have any other issues!
