Does anyone know where the 5000 series Cub tractors are built? I know Daihatsu is based in Japan, but I wonder if they source out some of their production to Indonesia or elsewhere.

As far as I know they are built here in the states

I concur because they really promoted that fact when they were first released. Built in the USA Ohio, I think (could be wrong on that part)

The 5234D is built in the US. The diesel engine is Japanese, it's a Daihatsu.

When you say built in the USA what does that really mean? I have one of the older Mitsubishi Cubs, 7234. I was under the impression it was only 'assembled' in the US but all the components were from Japan. I would assume the new Cub line is the same. If we dig a little deeper where are the Kioti models rebadged Cubs made? I thought they were manufactured in Korea, and the big pieces assembled here. Just checkin.

I'm pretty happy with my 7234, but it's a little large for my 3.5 acres. I was thinking about trading my Kubota ZD21 and also my 7234 with the loader and a few attachments for a 5234 or a 5254. I was just afraid the newer Cubs weren't the as good of quality as my old 7234 with the Mitsubishi engine.

I think it was my dealer who told me that the 5000 and 6000 series are manufactured in the US not just assembled. The 7000 series are Mitsubishi's and the 8000 series are Kioti's that are both assembled in the US.

Right. See the 5000 & 6000 are designed and built in-house by Cub, whereas the 7500 & 8000 are outsourced.
