Cub Cadet 6284 Service Manual

Does anyone know how a person can go about getting a service or repair manual for a Cub Cadet 6284 tractor and/or the CAT (Perkins) diesel engine? I'm not talking about an owners manual - I already have one of those. I'm looking for the service manual a person can refer to when he (or she) wants to do more than just check the oil or replace the air filter. I always like to have information like this on hand. If they are difficult to locate I'd rather go through the effort now than to wait until I'm stuck without it.

I'm not sure that there is a service manual for the 6284. If you look at the service manuals that are available on their website it's not listed. Here the link to the list. Answer
You might try calling the number listed and see what they say.

Thanks. I did as you said and e-mailed them to see if one is available. I am wondering if perhaps the service manual for the 7000 series is considered the same thing since the 6284 is basically a 7000 series with new numbers. If that is the case then perhaps I need to be looking to see if there is a 7000 series service manual available.

I'm sure I'm not the only one that would like to have a service manual for their 6284.

OK - I was right about the 7000 series - here is the response I just got from the Cub Cadet support (very fast by the way).

"A manual for the engine is not available through Cub Cadet. A Service Manual for the 7000 Series (769-01634) which is identical to the 6000 Series is available through our Consumer Parts/Publications Dept. @ 1-800-269-6215."

Hi Old Machinist

Thanks so very much for the upload. I downloaded and used it already to resolve a couple of little issues that were annoying and as a reference, it is great. I have a 2003 Cub 7304 with the Diatsu diesel.

Now I just gotta figure out how to get " the 2003 Cub Cadet
Technical Handbook " as I have an issue with Creep and the manual advises "Complete neutral control adjustment procedures
can be found in the 2003 Cub Cadet
Technical Handbook, page 6-129 through 6-131 "

Have gone to Cub to see if they can tell me where to get it.

I don't know if this is what your looking for. It's from the 7000 series compact tractor service manual that covers a lot of models(7000, 7192, 7193, 7194, 7195, 7200, 7205, 7232, 7233,7234, 7235, 7260, 7265, 7272, 7273, 7274, 7275, 7300, 7305). That is so very very kind of you to post some direction for me on my creep issue and then to upload the service manual was unbelievable.

I really, really appreciate your help.

Now I will be able to fix all the little issues that I have had ongoing for a while.
