gator blades
I have a sc 2400. I was at the dealer today to get a new set of blades for the mower. He asked if I wanted the regular blades or gator? I got the regular but now I'm wondering if I should try the gator blades. My only complaint about the mower is it dosent have a mulching kit. Would gator blades help with mulching? Pros or cons?

Re: gator blades
Gator blades work well. They will not mulch your grass as well as a mulching kit but they will cut the grass clippings into much smaller pieces than the stock blades. Also, the steel that is used for these blades would hold an edge for a longer time than the original blades n my JD X300.

Thanks for the reply. That's what I was hoping for. I didn't think it would be as good as a mulching kit but any improvement over my regular blades will be nice. I am not one to go behind and rake after mowing so I have always had a mulching kit. I will definitely be getting a set before spring gets here.
