For anyone who needs more hours or more abuse potential, I do find it interesting that the two machines are fiscally equal in 3 years (for my challanges I know which I'd want in 20), but neither the hours or abuse would be your case. As far as the wires, it really depends on the dealer whether they'd give you grief over it. Of course, if it's not such a distraction as to be "counter"safe, you may as well leave it and consider it the safety feature it's meant to be.
