Default 5000 Series Snow Plow / Dozer

Hey, I have a Cub Cadet 5234D that I am looking into putting a snow blade on. I have seen the Deere ones all over ebay with the hyd. control for $300-$500, and wondered if anyone here has any experience on if these will adapt to the CC unit. I have a welder and plenty of steel at my disposal, but dont want to put tons of time into fabbing a mount bracket if theres a better option. If not, does anyone have any suggestions on what to put on it. It doesn't necessarily need hydraulic on it, but I figure that if I have the option on the tractor I might as well.

Thanks!

Does your have FEL?..if so would you fit snow blade to bucket or loader arm,or fasten to tractor main frame.

Hello -

Man that's loaded question. I also have a 5234 with a Cub front hitch/blade. You might be able to duplicate the standard setup, but if I could get a NOS front hitch and blade I'd do it. I know around where I am I can get a new blade for around 500, but the hitch and PTO setup is a bit harder to find. I plow snow with it and it is a fantastic setup.

Thanks for the welcome!! I have found a lot of useful information on here! I am assuming FEL is front end loader, and if thats the case, no. All that I have is the tractor. I would just want to mount the blade to the frame.

Scoutcub, what would I be hooking up to the PTO? I just figured I would mount the plow to the bracket under the front frame, and hook the hyd. lines up to the connections. I would assume NOS is new old stock, and i'd be best to call up a cubby dealer here and ask them?

I've even considered just buying a regular garden tractor plow (like you'd find on a sears) and putting that on there, but don't know how that would work compared to a beefier one.

Just get a used ATV blade and bolt the mount to your frame. You can do 5-6' with that tractor but probably no more. I have one (6') I mount to my bucket and it works great. Been using it for years with no problem. It's on a 20HP diesel. I think I have around $150 total in the blade and the mods I thought I needed. In retrospect I don't think I really needed to do anything but bolt the ATV mount to the bottom of my bucket and rig something to control vertical movement of the ATV mount. A cheap chain would probably have worked just fine..No way would I spend a bunch of money on over priced snow blades that sit idle for most of the year.

Oops sorry the PTO would be for a blower. I might have a front hitch as well, all you would need is the cylinders if you wanted power angle, it's what I have and it work great. You can ask around the Cub dealers, but these parts are few and far between. Send me a PM and I'll let ya know.....

Great call....$1000 for a blower/hitch and blade is an awesome price.
