Hi guys,
Thought I'd share our next project for Loretta's 284 Jinma. We ordered a 48" Markham toothbar with 6 teeth instead of the standard 5 teeth on it. Reason being on the 5 tooth model, the 2 teeth next to the center tooth would interfere with the grapple jaw tips in case I reposition the grapple so the tips go below the cutting edge a little. The 6 tooth model has spaces where the jaw tips are, so the toothbar and tips can be sort of interlocking. This is more so the grapple tips can stick out a little for easier grasping of shrubs, rocks and debris, which is what she'll be doing most with her Jinma. I thought about making one, but kind of ran out of time to get a cutting edge and order the teeth. My savings on making an item like this was not very much. The price I paid was extremely reasonable from Markham. They were lower than what I saw on eBay or other places. Plus they made it with the teeth spaced the way we wanted. They are a good outfit and their product is excellent. I've had their toothbar on my Kama for nearly 3 years now. We'll be putting it on this next trip up to the property. I'll take some snapshots of the installation later. Rob- ![]()

Thanks Ron,
I think yours will dig slightly better with 5 teeth than six. She will (probably) use it more for brush work and tending her garden more than for digging. I'm hoping it fits good too! ![]()

I have a Markham toothbar and love it. My grapple is also Markham! Yes, they are truly an excellent outfit. Good prices. Very helpful. Great customer service!

Sorry guys,
No pics of the install yet. We brought it up but ran out of time to put it on. Had a lot of running around to do for the log home project. So we will do it next weekend. ![]()

During our Memorial day family camp out, we took the time to finish installing the Markham toothbar on Loretta's Jinma. After fitting and clamping it in place, we drilled holes in the bucket to bolt it on. It was pretty easy to do with a step drill and took about 20 minutes for everything, including welding on the side plates and re-painting.
Here are some shots of her tooth bar on the tractor. ![]() ![]()

Rob,
I was looking at your tag line again and was wondering just how much better you could have actually have been. I mean, isn't there a limit to human perfection? ![]() jb

You do some real nice work... The tooth bar looks great with the grapple! I am planning a similar install on my MF 1532 but I am going to drill and tap the plates before I install them so i won't have the nut and excess bolt hanging out to far for them to catch on things. (i was just going to use a real short bolt and a lock washer inside with some thread locker also for good measure) Again, nice job on all your projects I have seen so far. I hope you don't mind my little bit of "constructive criticism"
