I like your idea of a backing plate. Moldboard skin is pretty thin.

| Re: === BLADE HOOKS === I would install a couple of hooks so you can pass a cable under the blade and hook to. This way the blade is lifted by the cable when you are pulling out the stuck tractor, or when you are backing up to pull something else out. Just remember that the plow is only designed to raise so much before something bends... |

| Re: === BLADE HOOKS === I put a couple of hooks on my blade SS mount last year when I addapted it to the tractor. I went with the bolt on method. I didn't put them right on the blade due to the trip springs. They came in very handy during the winter to pluck vehicles that were stuck in the snow.

I think the OP might have a frame mount plow.
