Having replaced the housing (123.00), filter (30.00) and oil (150.00) after getting punji sticked, I figured it was time to make a guard for the filter. I was a little stumped on this one because of the amount of doohickeys and widgets hanging around the area, then it came to me in an epiphany somewhere west of Calais!

There's a couple other pictures there too. Nice side effect is the park brake cable is protected also. That broke first day I had the tractor. Dunno if it was a mfg. defect or if I snagged something.

Some of the metal is a bit heavy, but it was all scraps I had hanging around from other projects. Had to buy the paint and bolts, which was a highway robbery price of 20 bucks at Aubachon.

Next project is the FEL lines. Got some ideas.

Nicely done. That should give it plenty of protection and not too hard to remove for service.

I figured two bolts every 300 hours was far easier than using two of the neighbors tractors to haul me out after dumping all the oil, along with the cost, every 130 hours.:D
