I have an L-35 Kubota and am wondering if there is an aftermarket seat or mounting base that has more give/travel for a softer ride.

Or, maybe someone has come up with their own home remedy for this problem.

The present seat base has springs, but they don't seem to be for giving a softer ride, but for raising the seat when turning around to operate the backhoe.

Thanks to all that post any suggestions. Pictures are always of a great help.

Well not sure if this seat will fit your application but it sure is comfortable. I put one of these on my Bull Dozer. The gas shock (see pics) absorbs all the jolts my Dozer over rocks can deliver, 4" of travel, adjustable to riders weight, seat back has 3 angle positions and is seat belt ready.

GuglioLS,

Hey thanks!

That's exactly along the lines of what I was thinking. Is it something you bought off the Internet or were you able to buy it locally?

Thanks again.

I really love the pictures.

I opened the PDF.

I'm wondering what it would take to get it to be able to rotate for backhoe use.

I can't really go much higher than my present seat's height.

Do you know if they have any with built in reversing as an option?

Thanks again. It's a place to start.

At $449, that seat price is a bit salty...but if you look at it as equivalent to buying an implement, it's not bad at all (especially if you have a bad back).

I snatched a brand new one off eBay for half the 449 price from Northern Tool. It may seem expensive, but is very well built and parts are available if needed. I challenge anyone to find a quality gas shock seat for less (if you find one please let me know) This thing is super heavy duty and weighs like 60 pounds. I imagine making it swivel is a simple matter of mounting it to a lazy susan table or two pipes that slip together as a bearing or something like that. But then you gain height doing that.

Yooper1,

Thanks for catching the matter of 3 links being posted. I just clicked on the PDF by random chance.

Yes, $450 isn't cheap, but compared to feeling stoved up for the next couple days, that price doesn't sound to bad.

Glad to have some extra input as to the seats integrity of construction.

Thanks to all!
