I got these ideas from Darrell, TBN member (dmay)

http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/customization/200087-3pt-quick-hitch-imatch-ideas.html

Just a couple of simple mods, The lower center receiver has already proven itself so useful I now consider it a necessity.

I'm a nut about those receiver tubes, I have one on the top center of my loader bucket that I use everyday, gonna put one on my ballast box as well.

I did this first to my spare HF QH but I am already planning to mod my JD imatch QH the same way. need to find 4x6 box for the storage on the sides, 4x4 is a little small.

With one long receiver tube you can get 2 hitches and still have a short pc left to use to store inserts.

More pics,

I had to use the extension for the pintle to open all the way and the hook to leave an opening.

Looks great JB!

I'm looking forward to seeing how you accomplish the same on the iMatch. For the iMatch the top link metal is not as long so the top link knuckle protrudes above. Looks to be enough room under to drill a lower hole to lower the top link pin and still have travel clearance. That might make it possible to directly weld a hitch receiver to the top like you have done.

Yeah it's gonna be different, don't think I'll have the top center hitch for the reasons you mentioned. Toyed with it on top of frame but I can't get it close to the center and still get a good angle for a welding rod, it would have to be way over to the side. also looked at it on top right up next to the top link metal upright, it fits under the top link pin no problem, but then for the receiver pin I would have to drill through the upright.

If you could picture that, it would be welded to the top frame on one side and the top link upright on the other. I think it would be strong enough, probably even strengthen the top link attachment. Would still need an extension for the pintle plate mount to clear the top hook.

My biggest problem is finding 4x6 box, I went to 6 welding shops and could only find very heavy walled material, gonna have to make my own by splitting some of the 4x4 I have.

Update,

Put the receiver tube on my I-match and 2 storage boxes, had to custom make the boxes to 4"x5.5" also put a short pc of 2.5x2.5 tube on to store an insert. haven't put it back on the tractor yet.

Not life changing, but definitely handy. You always hear people asking where to mount a tool box or store something like a chain etc.

Still haven't decided on the top tube yet, But I did cobble up a tool carrier, loosely based on dmay's idea of using a bike carrier to hold tools.
Probably use it more with the lawn tractor.

Hey JB,

Very nice! I'm using the 3PH device now with 2" receiver on it and it's a PIA to drop the rear blade to install the 2" receiver .. Your Quick attach setup is the Cats Arsh!

Thanks for posting.
