Default It was a TORO GROUNDSMASTER 217D

I bought a TORO GROUNDSMASTER 217D with a minor problem. A connecting rod had punched a hole in the engine block.

    I took it apart.

After searching for another engine for a while I finally found a donor vehicle.

The Ford engine was only 4cm ( 1.5 in ) longer than the 2 cyl Mitsubishi diesel.

    I removed this box ...
    -dsc06769-jpg

I had to find a new place for the alternator.

A new custom pulley that bolts to the TORO pulley.

    And it is running again!

It started snowing so I made a simlple snow plow.

    -dsc06900-jpg -dsc06902-jpg -dsc06904-jpg

I had an old radiator and decided to make a slightley more serious snow plow from that. I used electrical actualtors to turn the blade.

Summertime and I needed a wheel loader instead. Very simple but it was much better than digging by hand.

    Wow I am impressed!

Yours took a lot more work than mine. I have never seen a tilt system like that.

Glad that I inspired you to build it.

Tried to watch the video, but don't have the right codec for Windows Media Player.

Looking forward to the rest of the build pictures.
Hold "Ctrl" (Control) and click on a picture or a Link, to open it in a new Tab.

The tilt works very well. It has almost the same strength thru the whole movement, and it also has a lot of movemet. I can tilt the bucket almost straight down at maximum lift.
With the tilt cylinder at the rear I can also get the bucket closer to the front wheels.

Actually I found your pictures 2 years after I built mine.

This is the same video of the XY-lever uploaded to youtube:

    -dsc08885-jpg -dsc08886-jpg

And a video showing the tilt mechanism with the rear mounted cylinder.

Moving some heavy wet snow. It will get a bit light at the rear when I get about 360 kg ( 800 lb ) in the bucket. The hydraulics will lift over 400 kg ( 880 lb ) at the front of the bucket.
