I know we are all discussing the upgrade, and I thought I would throw some pictures up of a test I did.
So, my tractor has what I believe is a 50 watt halogen round work light. It is pretty dim, I would give it 30 watts. I replaced them 4 years ago with China made LED 27 watt led units. Of course, huge difference. Today I got in another set of 48 watt LED from China.
My thoughts on the China issue. I believe there are few if none LED manufacturers in US (This info I got from a guy who makes LED movie lights). I have had a US "made LED work light in my hand and could not find one difference (other than a label) that suggested it was not from Chinese in origin. The US Made could be that the circuit boards are made and soldered. I never took it that far apart. I have heard (and I think there is a forum supporter here) that the chinese cases are a rip off of the US design. I can only comment on the one I was handed, and it was not from the forum supporter. Actually it would be very interesting to have that person give us a dog and pony as i of course would love US Made.
I will say I have 2 LED's bulbs out on one of my light. This was the reason for the swap. The light took a number of beatings so abuse is on the list. I purchased 4 and the other 3 are fine.
So here is some pix I took. I did not have my pro camera. I set the exposure for 1 second at F4.8. I was probably 50 feet from the trailer.
This is with just the 50 (?) watt tungsten. I don't feel this is a fair comparison as it is pretty dim and beat up.

This is with my single 27 watt flood LED.

This is with the new single 48 watt flood LED - I want to apologize as I bumped the camera and had to reset it, thus loosing my lense length.

As you can see (and so can I) WOW. Of course the shipment did not arrive with 2 lamps as i ordered, so I can't wait until I have double the fun.
