So after a few other projects got put in front of this one , I was finally able to start my box blade conversion, been trying to do this for a year or better. Any how, I have a threepoint box blade that I'm building a set of wheels and a tongue for it to convert it to a pull type. The tongue will pin into the lift arm pins and then a top link support will pin into the original top link hole and run down to the tongue for a brace. The wheels will have one side that can be adjusted with a extra cylinder to provide tilt for the box. Here is a pic of the wheel assembly I've got done so far.

Pic didn't load..... Go figure.....

I would suggest one of two things on the tongue issue. Either put a cylinder where you described putting a top link brace. Or get a horizontal drawbar for your tractor 3pt arms and hitch the blade tongue to that. Reason being you are going to want vertical height adjustment and a method to control it very accurately. Just having the rear wheels adjustable with a cylinder will work, but not as smoothly as doing that adjustment with the tongue.

I've been wanting to do this for several years. Keep looking for a cheap used BB in the 7 or 8 foot range but haven't found one. Keep us posted on the progress.

Hint on the pictures, size has to be under 1MB or TBN will reject it.

Thanks Richard, I had planned on using a spare top link i had for a adjustable "brace" just to adjust for different draw bar heights but i just might go with your cylinder idea , it would allow for a better angle of cut adjustment on the fly. I have a couple of cylinders setting here not doing anything.

Nice work on the rear wheel assembly!!!!

Are you going to control it with a cylinder for lift and a cylinder for tilt??

If so, we're gonna run out of rear remotes pretty quick!!! :)

Might want to stay with your rigid adjustable top link on the tongue and then use a drawbar on the 3pt.

I think you are going to want some pretty serious height ability on the BB. If not, it will high center when going over a hump that you don't want to cut.

Anxious to see your progress. Of course I'll steal all your good ideas!!!! :)

Yes hydraulic lift and tilt on the axle assembly , I have three remotes so I could do the hydraulic tongue. I have a couple of the draw bars for the lift arms so I could try that first and see how that works first. As for the lift height I should have about 12 " with the way Im setting up the cornet ion point for the cylinder, I also thought about using a cam setup to multiply the stroke length and allow me to mount the cylinder more flat, I'll know more about that when I get a little farther along. Oh use all the ideas you like, sort of what I've been doing along with adding my own from pics off the web and years of using large kilfer blades.

Does the channel iron weld to the bb ? If so make it a bit longer , 6" for lift . You certainly can weld , looks good . You will love this when done . It will be so much easier to use . Keep posting on progress , Kevin .

Nothing like a drawbar hitch on a bb . Eliminates all the agony and defeat of a 3 pt mount . Nice welds and fab . Keep us up to date . Kevin .

Thanks, yes the channel is going to be welded to the back for the pivot points. I think i understand what your getting at by extending the points farther back but doing that with the way i have it designed would actually reduce lift height , unless I'm thinking of a different t way then your saying.

Can someone post a pic of something similar please? Im intrigued but don't think I really understand the goal. Pardon my ignorance.
