Extended 54\" Blade to 66\" with UDPE Wear Strip
I put a 1/2" UDPE (Ultra-High Density Poly...) wear strip on my front blade to keep it from scratching up my new driveway.
While I was at it, I added a little width. My 4100 seems like it can push more snow than the stock 54" blade carried, so we will see how this works. If the extra width doesn't work out, I can always cut it back to 60", or all the way back to 54".
The face of the blade is covered with 1/4" HDPE (cheaper than UDPE) that I curved using a heat gun (and some gloves). This gives me the width extension and a very non-stick surface.
The whole project took about one evening of work, and cost about $75 in materials.
