Pull type sickel bar mower to 3 point?
I have been lurking here for a while, the expertise here is amazing, has anyone ever tried to convert a pull type sickel bar mower to 3 point? New, they cost $5,300.00 in my area. All of the used equipment here is pull type. I have a Ford 1720 4wd.

On a pull type, the gear box is driven by the wheels.. on a 3pt the gearbox is pto driven. I guess you'd have to make it where the pto drives the gearbox.. might have to rotate the gear box, and find out the drive ratio..

Early pull types were driven by the wheels but that changed in about the 40's or so.
New Holland still makes one model 456
You could convert one to 3ph quite easily, all it takes is a little time and some good steel.
