Yep, theres that and possible issues with the clevis on the cylinder end to the mount interference when full down. Make sure you have the cylinder in hand and recheck b4 cuttin steel.

also I am afraid the your bucket surface where mount is attached is going to flex and maybe bend when you are clamped down on sumpin, might want to stiffen bucket or add low setting relief valve or equivalent (I am not too hip on fluid power).

dave I sent you mpegs, cant attach to post

Yeah, I have made an adjustment to the arm pivot bracket. I will revise my mock up before cutting the steel. Rdln, your mpeg is great!! Thank you so much. That is some kind of program you have!!!

Very nice, Steve. What are you using for CAD?

Nice......I'm glad you were able to share it with everyone. I cut out the new pivots I designed for the mock. I will post new mock pictures soon as its done. Your animation fires me up to get this thing done. Still haven't really thought too much on the hydraulics yet, but I have been reading up on options.

Steve,
Where is the toothbar in your animation?
It ends up working like a mini rock grapple for the first six inches.:)

dtd24,
We are anxiously waiting.

thats the way the man wants it. I too have never used one, heck dont even have third function line on loader. Maybe on the next tractor

Rob,
I am workin on it. Work has been crazy lately. It's been cutting into my grapple time :(. Saturday, I will revise my mock up just to be sure it works.
Next step after that will be the scrap yard for metal.

I don't have a tooth bar on my bucket yet! They seem to be very useful though. Someone did mention I should get that first before I build the grapple so the grapple arms don't hit the teeth, but I don't know if I can pass both project costs through the Treasurer :(.

Her birthday is on Sunday, think she may want a nice shiny toothbar?

Hahaha,
Her birthday is on Sunday, think she may want a nice shiny toothbar?
That is one sure way to get yourself killed!
I think a really good birthday present just for her and some flowers works great. Then AFTER that you can run it by her sort of casually.
Another thing you can do is call Markham and ask what their teeth spacing is on a toothbar that fit's your bucket width. Or better yet, if you build your own, draw it up now with the number of teeth you want and fit your grapple between them. Usually 5, 6 or 7 depending on your bucket width. And adjusting the width of your grapple at this stage is no big deal.
Mine is a 72" wide bucket and has 7 teeth.
