I have a # 55 massey Ferguson turn over plow. I cannot get the trip chain to return. I replaced the spring and cleaned it good. I couldn't get it to come off to do a real good job. Was afraid to force it to hard. I don't know what's in there. The chain will return sometimes, I forgot to add.
Can anyone tell me if there is a trick to getting the chain guide off and also how tight should the spring be.

Hi, new to this site and have a question regarding hp loss due to elevation. After a lot of research on tractor choices it's either the LS3033h or R4041h. Need the tractor for snowblowing and general use. They say you lose 2% hp per 1000ft of elevation and I'm at 6000ft which =12% loss. The 3033 is rated 26 hp @ the pto- 4041 is 33 before the deduct. Every dealer/salesman has different opinions or just don't know about true hp loss. LS dealer says folks who buy the 3033 at Lake Tahoe don't notice any hp loss and recommends that one. I like the price on the smaller unit but don't want to make a mistake. Any input will be appreciated.
Thanks, Steve

Hi All.

I hope my posting here isn't against forum rules or anything, but here goes nothing.

My name is Jack and I run online sales for Offroad lighting, LED light bars, crawling lights, and more! - LEDWAREHOUSE.COM. We're a growing LED lighting supplier that aims to provide the highest quality lighting at affordable prices.

We primarily serve the offroad market, but would also like to branch out into communities such as this one if people are interested. We would like to sponsor an active TractorByNet member (e.g., over 100 posts) by providing any lights they find on our site (Offroad lighting, LED light bars, crawling lights, and more! - LEDWAREHOUSE.COM at below cost. All we ask in return is that you take some nice photos detailing your installation and post em up so we can see how the job turned out.

I apologize if this is the wrong place to be posting this. I hope to hear from some of you soon!

Today I was using it and as I was driving around it just stopped running with no waring. It's something electrical since when I turn the key on and off I just hear a faint click and no lights on the dash. Where are the fuses located on this tractor? Is there a relay on it? The battery seems to be charged. Thanks for any input

Kohler suffered fatal internal damage, so I bought a good-running Briggs to replace it. Bolts right in but the wiring is confusing. Here are the particulars:

Donor: Sears 917272352
Briggs 15.5HP OHV 31C707 Type 0230E Code 030509ZE 31449

Recipient: Sears 917256544
Kohler Command CV15S 15HP OHV dead

Wires:

Briggs: Red and Orange - on back of engine
Grey - to carb (changes to blue in chassis loom)
Black - to ignition on top of engine

Kohler: Red - carb
Yellow - ?
White - ?
Black - ?

In a chassis connector the Kohler changes to Blue, Orange, Red and Black.

So I guessed and ran blue to blue, orange to orange, and tried connecting the other two. No starter, no joy. How should my wires be connected?
Do I need to transplant the solenoid as well?

Thanks, Tom
