Hello all
I searched some, but couldn't find this addressed. MX4700. I decided to check the front axle fluid level and when I removed the check plug I heard of 'puff' of air (tractor had been sitting for over a day). Level was fine, but the pressure (or vacuum) concerned me a little. I checked two more times over the last couple of weeks and got the same result. It is so quick I can't honestly say whether it is pressure releasing or a bit of a vacuum equalizing.

Is there a vent on the axle? If so where and can I clean it? If no vent, is this normal for others? Is this something I need to address? I don't want to blow a seal with built up pressure when it gets hot. I would have thought there was a vent to prevent much pressure, but I haven't found it yet.

Thanks for your comments

I have a 2011 Kubota B3200 with the LA504 loader and I want to add a 3rd function valve for a future 4 in 1 bucket. I also want to add a top n tilt kit to it.
1 can both be added?
2. What is the cheapest way to do it?
3. I would like to do as much of the install myself as I can.
What are the best online parts shops?

I know that there are a lot of questions so any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

We have several blades missing from our trans cooling fan. It may have been this way for hundreds of hours, I do not know. I would like to wait until I have obtained a skid plate to keep this from happening again before I take it all apart. I would like to just do this once.

Is it likely to cause much more damage than it already has to keep running this way a few more hours?

Or, since it is not that hot here in the NE yet, I could cut off the remaining blades to eliminate the imbalance.

What do you folks think?

Thanks so much, as always,

Hello , been reading the forum off and on for awhile but this will my first post . I have a Kubota ZG222a-48 that l just made the 24th payment on . It has 107 hrs of cutting my 1.3 acres and my daughters 3 acres so it basically looks brand new. I checked all fluids recently but while cutting grass last week the small gearbox on the pro deck ran dry and destroyed itself rather quickly . My Kubota dealer has been very obliging so far and has ordered the part under warranty even though l am a month out . My friend that purchased a ZG222 a couple months after l did went home and checked his and it was also dry . When he added fluid it immediately leaked out the bottom . His ZG222 has only 75 hrs of cutting his 2.5 acre yard . My question is ,ls this something to concern myself with ? My service advisor stated he knows of only one other gearbox that leaked and went out as mine has done yet my friends lower seal is gone also . I shopped around to find the last mower l would ever buy and paid $7400 OTD for a commercial machine but this is not confidence inspiring at all . Any similar experiences or advice ?

Today I prepared the B7510 for mowing around some of the 15,000 little trees on the farm. That involved removing the five-foot mid-mount mower and hooking on the 48" rotary mower. The off-brand mower normally mounts on my Bolens G174 where height control is achieved by means of a pair of chains to the upper bolt on the 3 pt hitch. The fittings came with the 4' Woods finish mower and it seemed reasonable to add the chains when I bought the bush hog new.

Removing the MMM turned out to be a handful because I have it set for a 4" cut and didn't want to change it. That reduced clearance underneath, so I lifted the front with a floor jack. The little clips which hold the trailing arms for the mower had been mangled by frequent lifts and hydraulic force. I had to remove one and blacksmith it back into shape. Apart from that the dis-assembly went well.

Hitching the Kubota up to a stationary implement was a pleasant surprise. The arms of the hitch arch together and above the implement, making it easy to centre things. When I lowered the hoist, I watched the arms spread out to about where they needed to be. Minor adjustments to position can be done from the ground by discreet pressure on the go and reverse pedals. This was real bonus. Hitching up the idling tractor was surprisingly easy.

The 7510 doesn't seem to need suitcase weights to balance the 405 pounds of the mower on the 3 pt. hitch. The chains were unnecessary so I taped them securely out of the way. The lift height control seems quite precise and it holds its position well. While I always used 4WD with the Bolens to allow it to turn, the 'Bota gets along well in 2Wd on the rough field.

Mowing long rows of seedlings goes much more quickly on the Kubota than on the Bolens.

From two hours of field work, the B7510 seems poised to boot the Bolens out of the garage. At the moment I can't think of anything the 1980 G174 can do which the '05 Bota can't do better, and with insolent ease.

I have been lurking for some time and found this site and members to be very helpful to say the least. Through your indirect advice, I purchased a non rental 2011 Kubota B26 TLB (149 hrs) with hydraulic thumb, front and rear remotes, QA rear (12&18) and 3PH. I could have purchased a new B2920 and BH for less but you guys advised me different for my intended use. So here is a big THANKS! for ending my pain as the search is over.

Normally these come set up with Deere (SAE or Backhoe) controls but the guy I purchased it from had it set up to CAT controls since he was use to that. I have not run a machine for maybe 15 years or more and it does not seem intuitive to me. I am sure I could easily train myself to use the current configuration but I do have a few questions and need some advice. I do not really want to start using the CAT controls for a month and then change for whatever reason.

So here are my questions:

1. Is there any drawback to not having the standard SAE controls on this machine?

2. I know i can simply swap the 4 appropriate hydraulic lines and it will change it back. However, I was told by the former owner that I could possibly bend the dipper stick cylinder (and weaken the boom) since there is a different pressure going to each via a different PRV (or maybe he said restrictor) setting etc. That I would have to change to spool valve etc to do it properly. I had seen in one post where someone paid $1000 to have this changed (likely rearranged everything) and then another member simply swapped those hoses multiple time (thought 1K switch member got hosed) with no apparent issue. Really, for practical purposes both could be right.

So in number 2. I am starting to wonder if everything has to be changed OR can I simply swap the lines. Really, If the dipper stick is 5% more powerful and the boom is 5% weaker no big deal and that would not likely be noticeable by me or anyone else. If that is the case, then technically speaking, I should change everything but really do not have too. Well if it is a 20% difference then maybe I should. I would like to make and informed decision so please...I need the collective to offer some sage advice before I try to grow it.

3. Are one style of controls superior to the other in terms of workflow?

i purchased the B26 to further develop my already functionally developed recreation property. I need to clear some land, say a couple of acres, maintain an 1100 foot driveway, develop some trails and possible erosion control with 1500 feet of river front. I would also like to plant a small garden in time and dig out for a root cellar. Oh..and have lots of fun too!

Thanks so much!

The diesel shop working on our misfire problem, noted in another thread, found the plastic propeller shaft fan is missing some blades, causing vibration from imbalance. I suspect this may have been this way for many hours, though I had no clue about it until now.

I am considering installing the fan myself. Our Kubota dealer says this problem with missing blades is common and has them in stock. The part is only $12, but installation is over 3 hours of labor. I do not have a shop manual, so I do not know how much needs to be removed to deal with this. Can anyone share their experience with this replacement?

I have a parts blow-up. It looks like the fan is held on by two bolts. To save a lot of time and effort, I am wondering if it might be possible to cut the fan in half to install it without removing the prop shaft, then secure with the two bolts and epoxy the two seams.

Please advise.

Thanks in advance!
