Considering JD X744 Purchase - Need Advice!

The tractor is 3 years old, has 700 hours, and they want $7500. It is all wheel steer.

1) This tractor is more than I need. Before this I was contemplating a X534. I might be able to buy a X534 for close to similar price new. Which is better route?
2) It has a 54" deck. If I was buying the X744 new, I would want 62". I mow 4 acres. Would the 6" make a huge difference? I'm thinking of asking the dealer if he will swap the 54" deck for a 62" deck the next time a used machine comes through his dealership - would that be reasonable deal if I was willing to pay the $400 difference in price between these decks new?
3) At this many hours, what would you anticipate being worn out i.e. what should I look for when I inspect? Should I expect things to start failing, or is 700 hours still very new for a diesel mower and this cutting deck?
4) At some point, I might want a tiller on the X744. Are the hydraulic or PTO tillers any good?
5) Do the tillers work OK with a 2 wheel drive, hydro tractor? I have a Kubota B6000, and I have to lock it in 4WD just so the tiller won't skid the tractor forward! Will the hydro just "coast" when the tiller tries to push it forward? Somehow, I can't imagine the tiller working on these tractors.
6) I currently have a relatively new L-120 mower. Is there any chance I will regret my decision to "upgrade" to the X744.

Thank you,
Chris

I recently bought a 2003 4310 with 130 hours on it and want to buy a backhoe. The local dealer said the least expensive backhoe listed is the 375 and quoted a price of $8,800 installed. I see in this thread a lot of 4310's equipped with a 47 backhoe which the JD website lists for $6,900. Will the 47 work and what are the advantages of the 375?

New 3320 Help

Hiya folks. Please be patient with me, newbie here and very new to the world of tractors. I been reading on here as much as I can and it is a wealth of info, even if I don't understand a lot of it.

Hopefully I won't bore you but like others, I would like some good opinions on a decision I am about to make in joining the Green family. I just priced out a 3320 and am wondering how this price sounds.

New 3320 with cab, R4 tires loaded, 300CX with 73" hvy duty bucket with cutting holes for cutting edge, Frontier 54" 3 point rear snowblower, I also added a rear windshield wiper and lights...price was $36,807 and would get it for $30,500 cash price.

I plan on mainly using the tractor for load work ie: mulch, loam, gravel, some clearing of scrub trees etc., snow (700' driveway and areas in and around house not easy to plow), and maintaining driveway ie: grading. This will be used mostly in Maine where it snows pretty good. Have smaller mower for lawn area so no need for mower attachment.

Also, any help or suggestions if this size tractor and set-up is overkill for what I am looking to do and/or is there something I should be looking to add or do differently? I appreciate any info I can get and I know this is another "is this a good price" post but no better place than here to get a good answer from what I have seen. Thanks in advance.

Camden sales and service is no longer a JD dealer as of the 31st of last month. I went to Camden sales in Camden, NC today I was trying to get a set of blades and a new belt for my Z445 and they cannot even order parts for me anymore. All the JD owners in the area will have to go to Eastcoast equipment in Hertford, NC for repairs or to order parts etc. For those that live in the NENC area this is very bad news indeed. They will still provide mower repair and they are still a NAPA but they cannot provide JD warranty repair work.

It would need to have heat, hard cab, windshield wiper ( wipers) and radio. Is it possible to get one with AC? I understand the only way to get the AC was to factory order that with the cab through the dealer, before it was bought?
Thanks for anything that would be a around price.

As I've posted here in the past I've been considering a 110 tlb as a replacement for my 3320 tlb. I've been very happy and impressed with the 3320 with the exception of the loader. I've got the 300x loader and I'm not a huge fan of the detachable design's of both the x an cx. I feel it makes the unit less stable. I'd also like a little more lift capacity and dump height and angle. Further complicating the decision is the fact the most of the attachment I have for my 3320 won't fit the 110. I really woulf like to get a
4in 1 bucket in the 72" range for some of my finish grading work. I use the tractor commercially for brush hogging and harley raking lawns. I would be a huge time saver to pile the rocks after raking and pick them up with the open 4in1. I've talked to my dealer and there only offering me 1k on trade for my 300x and are quoting close to list on the cx. So what do you guys think. The 110 isn't a huge step up in hp, but is the next frame size up. But one of the best things about the 3000 series if the size. I also keep the 3320 in my heated garage with the rops folded down. The 110 would need to go in my carport. I was brainstorming and came up with the cx and 4in1 idea. Tell me what you think. Thanks

Hello guys and thank you for the responses to my previous posts, it has been a nice welcome to the forum. This question is a little more heavily weighted as it is more of an investment than I have dealt with in the past. I grew up on a small 160 acre family farm. We had few implements and tractors, and about 18 years ago we ended up contracting out our land instead of farming it ourselves as the investment outweighed the opportunity. Our primary tractor for the farm, and still owned by us today, is a 1974 John Deere 4040 with an amazing 3,500hrs on it. Recently, my brother and I started a small hay business, and this year already we have doubled in size. We are pushing the 100 acre mark for next years business, and we are in the middle of updating equipment as we go. My brother just invested in an 05 TN60a that will help immensly, and I am looking at trading in the old 4040 to do what my dad did 30 years ago, invest in a tractor that will last us another 30 years. I do want to go Green as it has treated my family well over the years, and the service and support is abundant where I live. After a ton of searching and deliberating, my first choice would fall on an 06-07 JD 5525, Cab, MFWD, loader prepped, under 750hrs. I have also found out that for about he same price, I can get a brand new JD 5093E series also with cab, MFWD, and loader prepped. From what I have read, there is not a whole lot of difference between the two less a few hydraulic GPM, different control configuration, and a little weight. I really would like opinions as to what you guys think would be a better investment for the long haul. I feel like the 5525 would hold its value better having the bells and whistles, but cant get over knowing I can get a brand new tractor with a few less options for the same money. Any advice/recommendations would be highly appreciated as I have a big decision to make and I want to make the right one. Thanks for the help and advice, its much appreciated.
Regards,

Well, the used 2520 I was looking at was sold out from under me, and - after some lengthly soul-searching an web-surfing (especially here on TBN) - I finally decided on a BRAND SPANKIN' NEW 2520.....I just got home from my local JD dealer where I put a deposit on a 2520, 200cx w/61" and 46 BH w/16" ....I am very, very excited (with the occasion bout of buyers remorse)!! :D

So, now the wait for confirmation of when everything will be delivered - dealer estimates 2.5 weeks...ANTICIPATION!! :o

QUESTION: I am contemplating having the rear wheels filled (I have a pretty hilly property)...dealer has quoted me $300 for both tires w/Calcium Chloride to include the tubes - any thoughts, suggestions or concerns on this?

Would someone please briefly summarize the main differences? I don't mind rolling a deck from under a tractor, but I'm not interested in dragging one sideways with no help from wheels.

The mower will be used 90% of the time, so I could pick the tractor to suit the mower - say between 2305, 2320, and 3032e - if one deck is a standout.
Thanks for any info.
