My wife said when I bought my tractor, "it wont be long, you'll have it ripped apart in the garage and re doing everything". Well, she wasnt far off the mark, although I just call it a pre winter tune up.
Took the rad in and got it hot tanked and flushed

Took apart the power steering hoses, pump and reservoir. Mount was broke so I welded it up. Cleaned out the tank and cleaned up the hose ends.
All new battery cables, oil change, cleaned up the valve cover.

While I am at it, banged out the dents in the nose and hood, might as well get her painted.

Re-doing the name plates should be fun, gonna have to paint the lettering over again. You can sort of make out the original lettering NUFFIELD 10/60

While using my Long 310/260 last weekend, the tractor began losing power, running slower and slower, until it would just quit. After sitting for a few minutes, it could be started back up, run for a little bit, then it would start slowing down again and finally just quit. This tractor has been sitting for a long time before I got it, and I suspected a fuel starvation problem due to junk coming from the tank and lines. I had just changed the fuel filter earlier that morning. I was getting plenty of fuel up to the injector pump. Taking the input fitting out of the pump, I found a small screen filter, gobbed off with black junk. I sprayed it off with the only aerosol spray I had handy, a can of starting fluid. It did the trick. After re-installing the screen filter, the tractor started up, made full rpm, and ran perfectly for an hour or so, then began doing the same thing it was doing previously. Checking the screen filter revealed that it was again gobbed off with black junk. After the second cleaning, I haven't had to clean the filter again, but will probably have to in the future. Here's a link to a rebuild manual showing the parts of one of these injection pumps-go to the last 2 pages of the manual, the filter is part no. 10:
http://www.fujiyachts.net/manuals/CA...d%20Manual.pdf

Hope someone finds this useful.

Hello all,
I have a recently purchased Long 310 or 260 which is a neat little tractor, overall, but has a problem with the hydraulic lift in that it will initially lift an implement, but after reaching the set position, will then lower it, lift it, lower it, lift it, etc.... You get the picture. If there is no implement attached, the lift goes up to the set position and stays there. Any ideas on what could be wrong with it??

I am getting a whine where i think might be coming from the transmission. It only happens in one instance though.

Only when i have the shift lever on the L.H. fender shifted into 3rd gear i get a whine in all other sub-gears, 1,2,3, and Reverse. This used to only occur when it was cold outside and until the tractor warmed up but now it happens all the time.

Has anyone else experienced this and if so what was it and what did you do to fix it?

thanks,

I'm evaluation a Deutz Fahr Agroplus 87hp, 2007 model. It has many very nice features but...
(1) transmission is really hard to shift - both the low-med-high range and the 1-5 speed shifting is surprisingly rough. I would expect perhaps that the range selection to be a bit sticky, but the 1-5 speed shifting too?
(2) stop-and-go feature doesn't seem to work in creeper at all and in most gears it doesn't work in reverse.
(3) brakes - these brakes are the hardest I have ever seen to apply

Are these common complaints with Agroplus?

Any feedback would be appreciated.
