Curious if this machine might be useful, or just overkill.
I've been looking for an older pneumatic tire forklift and something similar to this popped up. My goal is to be able to move larger items around several gravel drives and parking areas on the property, and eventually use it in a small auto salvage yard. The areas are well packed and can support my 22k lb loaded dump truck.

These old Hysters are rated at 15k lbs and weigh a little over 19k. Does anyone have experience owning/operating such a beast? Will they negotiate inclines?

How expensive is it to transport one from site to site? I'm assuming a semi tractor and low-boy would be required?

The other option would be a construction or off-road lift like in the second picture. The big Hyster would be more capable in an industrial setting, and could lift more, while the tractor-forklift is more versatile in outdoor settings but probably not as well suited to moving cars or bulky items. However with my current truck and trailer I could move it from site to site if needed.

I just purchased a 2 row John Deere 71 flex and have been looking it over this weekend. Only after messing with it for some time did I realize that the fiberglass from the seed hoppers were coming off on my arms and clothing when I rubbed up against it. ITCHING !!!!. I was thinking about spraying them with some sort of shellac or something. Any suggestions from those of you that mess with these things all the time? thanks

Im new to the row crop scene. For several years I have wanted to have summer food plots (corn, beans, sunflower, millet etc) I have been slowly accumulating equipment and knowledge. I have a 7710 Ford tractor. Because of the gates and trails through the woods that I have to go through to get to some of my food plot sites, I would like to keep the implements from sticking too far outside my wheels. I was considering a 4 row planter and had initially thought I would need a 4 row cultivator to compliment it. However, after really looking at how a cultivator worked, it dawned on me that an "x" row cultivator would always be wider than the same "x" row planter. Therefore, I was thinking of a 4 row planter and then using a 2 row cultivator to work it. Is this reasonable logic ? thanks

I purchased this 5' sickle bar for $250.00 but have no idea what brand it is. The plate on the belly of it is a home made add on, but the rest seems pretty much original. It works great, just looking for a brand name in case I need to get parts.

Thank you in advance,

Well decided on a very little used one. Made in Italy by Sitrex. This morning I thought I would give her a test drive. Took her over to the timothy field and it was still very WET and perfect conditions for plugging up a sickle mower. Even when this field is dry it is so thick it would eventually plug my Deere sickle mower even with new knives and guards. The double action sickle mower never plugged in fact out of curiosity I tried to get it to plug by slowing the rpm's to virtually idle speed and through the wet-thick grass I could not force this thing to plug no matter what. I think its going to work great on my 40 acre hay field this late spring and for once there is no more cussing and getting off/on my tractor and struggling with the plugging in the thick fine-grass fields.

I have an old Oliver ground drive spreader that someone gave me. It worked perfectly until one of the tires blew out the sidewall. While I'm waiting to get new tires I'm going to restore it to origional condition. I think it's a model 17 ( the ID plate reads: Oliver Superior manure spreader Serial number 17-1355). But here's the brain dump part. I took off the front board because it was bad and I'm going to build a new one. But I can't remember which way the "notch plate" goes. The one the levers notch in to. Two notches on the left ,multi-notches on the right or the other way? Also is it possible to get a manual for this spreader? You guys are always a great help and I'm someone can help here. Thanks much.

The one set of front wheel bearings disintegrated on me today on my Kory hay wagon (6672). Does anyone have a part number so I can pick up a set at the parts house? Or can you tell if just any tapered 1 5/8" bearings will work?

Thanks in advance!

I'm looking to sell my Brillion Sure Stand Grass Seeder SS96-01, and have no idea as to it's value. It is very low hours, still has paint, and there is no sheet metal rust through. Does anyone have a sense of what I should ask? The only negative is that there is a family of yellow jackets living in one of the seed hoppers. :p

Thanks!

It looks pretty much like this, mine has a little more rust through on the paint.
