So I'm new to this forum and like most people I signed up because I'm having some troubles (caused by my ongoing stupidity no doubt). My TX1300 4x4 has a front end loader and has been a great tractor. I've run it for over a year now clearing blackberries, tilling, and hauling things around in the bucket. Two days ago I decided to change the oil in the gearbox because I hadn't done it since I owned it. I figured I was doing right by flipping the seat up and reading the label. Unfortunately it was in Japanese and all I could see was the number "80". Well, I thought that meant 80w gear oil. Oy. So I put gear oil in it and the next day try to use the hydraulics but it goes all stuttery and soft-like. I did a quick search and found out that the TX1300 shares fluid. So I went down to True Value and got a 5 gal. pail of Accel 303 hydraulic transmission oil. It worked all day today and after running it hard I tried the bucket (I was field mowing so I didn't touch the bucket) and holy moley, it's not even working. There is so much air in the cylinders that I can move the bucket on it's tilt axis about 1/4 of it's travel! I bled the lines both ways and it got worse! Did I toast my pump by using gear oil initially? Would higher quality oil fix this thing? I'm $70 deep in oil changes already. I looked at the part number stamped on the rim of the pump and it's GP3340A. If I did trash my pump I'd like to find one to fit on it (or if I didn't, it would be nice to have a spare). Any advice or constructive criticism would be appreciated. I read a bit about Accel oil being total crap but I'm having a hard time believing they could legally sell it if it behaves like this in an old tractor. I'm going to sit down this evening and study the forum for any clues while this post goes up.

Thanks!

So I'm having all sorts of problems with my hydraulic system on my Bolens 1502H. As I'm pulling my hair out trying to figure this out, I keep seeing people are putting 80 or 90 weight gear oil in the crankcase/hydaulic system. I am just running tractor trans/hydraulic in mine, could this be the reason for my problems (3 point wont lift my mower, sparadic drive problems and lots of whining from the system) Should I drain the system again and go with a much heavier wheight oil??? Thank guys, I'm obsessed with getting this thing right!!

Hello all,
I am new to tractors and Iseki. Just bought a low time Iseki TS1610 that needed a radiator. Has pretty new Maschio mower on the back.

In the process of getting a few things taken care of. The tractor sat out under trees for years, so faded a bit, but running good other wise. Just put a core in the radiator.

I have no manual for it and the labels on the controls are gone. Only one of the dash lights work ( one on far right)

Can't find air or oil filter applications for it . I like Wix.
Any help and advice appreciated.

So I got this nice Bolens tractor w a Woods 48 in mower on the back. It runs great and only has 700 hrs on it. The guy i got it from said the 3 point wasn't lifing that great, so far i changed the hydro fluid twice, filter and cleaned both screens (front and back) On top of the 3 point not lifting (it goes a little bit but won't lift the mower--- (it will stay up if I get in the back of the mower and lift it) I was mowing the other night and it started acting up and whining quite a bit and now I have no reverse or drive! I barely made it back in my garage. I'm at a loss, is it the pump or something deep inside the huge drivetrain section?? Any help is much appriciated!!

Iseki TM3240 Oil Leak
Hi there. I have just purchased an Iseki TM 3240 4WD with a FEL. 1250hrs and tidy wee tractor, however both of the rear axle housing gaskets on either side seem to be leaking. It is the FH version being hydrostatic transmission so the fluid is very thin and any leak will show. The area of the leaks is where the loader rear mounting is attached and I think that the bolts may have loosed off with so heavy loader operation, just my guess?
Anyone have any ideas on this? How hard are these gaskets to renew, the hydraulic control lever goes through one of the housings?
Where is the best source for an overhaul manual?

Since I bought the G174 three years ago the cooling system has never uttered a burp. It was as if the thing didn't have one. Then while I was picking up a little cherry tree in the woods with the dump box, the overheat light winked on faintly. I shut off and checked the coolant. All fine, and the engine wasn't hot to the touch.

Tinkering involved blowing out the radiator fins, removing the sender and cleaning it, cleaning the connection, draining the coolant and adding new, and a installing new fan belt.

Suspecting a head gasket I trailered it to a local machinery dealer. The mechanic who looked at it said it wasn't a head gasket and suggested the fan belt. At 32 years of age (original Mitsubishi belt) it was due for replacement. The water pump does not appear to leak, and I think the thermostat works, though I'm not sure.

So all is maintained on the cooling system, but the light still comes on faintly, more often than not. I suspect the sender is shot.

Advice? Source of sender?

Thanks,

Looks like the weather is going to cooperate here this weekend so I'm going to push forward with a KE70 to KE75 engine swap. I plan on having it finished up by the end of next weekend. I'm not documenting every step, just a few snapshots. The biggest problem I had so far was splitting the TX1500 - the "donor" machine which is the Bolens G172 picture. It was my first split and the clutch was siezed to the spline on the transmission. I did a lot of head-scratching before popping the plug off the clutch hosing, removing the bolts to the flywheel and splitting the tractor with the clutch retained in the clutch housing. Fortunately the Iseki TX1300 slid right apart like it was supposed to but I still have it together until I get the KE75 ready. I ended up destroying the clutch disk removing it from the clutch housing using a puller, torch, and hammer.

I put a thermostat housing on the KE75 from another engine. This caused some interference issues with the fuel injection lines. I just bent them around the housing. Also installed a 400W block heater which can be seen where the starter goes (yes the starter still fits but barely after putting in the heater.) The freeze plug there is 40mm in diameter for those wanting to add one. I believe mine is a Kats off Amazon.

Checked the valve clearnance and had the injector nozzles pop-tested. The KE75 is a good runner and doesn't need anything else at the moment. Will update as I progress. This is a continuation from this thread:
