I have a 4110, about 3 years old. Today while mowing I had the RPMs set at 2800 for the PTO. When I tried to stop and look at something I pushed the throttle forward but the speed did not change. Seems like there is no resistance when I pushed it forward. The engine stayed at the higher RPM. Any one have any ideas?

Help! Where can I find a wrench to remove the oil filter on the Mahindra 3616 HST? It appears that this has to be the "cap" type of wrench that attaches to a ratchet. In my opinion, this is a very poorly designed place to locate the filter on this tractor -- very difficult to get to, with hydraulic hoses and other obstacles preventing the use of regular filter wrenches. I can't find a "cap" type that fits the filter for this tractor, and I'm at the 50 hour point and need to change it right away. Any dealers out there that have one, or can someone suggest one?

Hey,
I have a 2 year old 4035 that I just love. I put about 100 hr a year on it. It's all ways been inside my garage and this spring I noticed hyd. oil on the floor. I crawled under it and found a hose that seemed to be dripping. I drained the oil, removed the hose and when I would bend it I could see cracks in the hose. I took it to the dealer and he ordered one for me. I went to put the old hose back on and noticed a couple more hoses of the same material leaking too. The dealer came to look and said he would order and replace all the hoses made of that "plastic" looking material on warranty.
I was wondering if any one else had a problem with this? The wrapped, rubber looking hoses are all fine, just the shinier looking ones are the ones leaking.

This is my first post. Hope it's the right forum....

I'm needing to expose the brake linkage under the dash for adjustment and lubrication but can't adequately get to it because of the metal housing blocking everything. I figure this housing surely must come off but do not see an easy way to do this. I recently purchased the service manual but it does not address this.

Any information is greatly appreciated.

My 3016 came with the rear wheels set in a narrow position; with a lot of advice here in TractorByNet and from my dealer, I was able to make it...

My 3016 came with the rear wheels set in a narrow position; with a lot of advice here in TractorByNet and from my dealer, I was able to make it happen in conjunction with my initial 10 hour service.

The sheer weight of the tires, my lack of physical fitness, and my lack of lifting equipment makes this project a 8 on a scale of 1-10 in difficulty. It reminded me of fighting GIs from Nebraska; lots of aikido & grunting.

For anyone interested, the sequence I used follows; I wanted to keep my valve stems on the outside which gives me the second widest stance possible (as far as I know).

Set the parking brake, break the related nuts loose but leave snug.
Secure, raise and properly support the tractor just off the surface/floor.

Same for both wheels

Remove tire/wheel assembly (keeping it vertical) and position it against a steady object (keep the ballast calm).
Remove the nuts securing the disk to the rim except for the nuts closest to the valve stem.
With the nuts next to the valve stem loose but still in place, tap the disk off the keys until it breaks loose.
It is imperative to protect the valve stem while the disk is separated from the rim.
These rims hold a carriage bolt secure on either side so I arranged the disk back onto the inside of the rim slots.
The rim keys center the disk as it is tightened & torqued in the same manner as any wheel (star patterns).
Check for centering anyway.
Situate the wheel close to the hub (tread direction), use of a block and a 4 foot 2X4, lift (pry) the wheel up & onto the hub.

Most difficult part for me

Holding the tire assemble against the hub, pry on the front of the tire, rotate the tire disk until the lug holes line up; insert top lug first. I seen in another post where a guy used a temp wheel stud to hang the wheel.
Rotate the rim as needed and insert the rest of the lug bolts; tighten & torque as you would any wheel (star pattern).

Easy street

Lower the tractor; conduct pre-operations checks, drive around a bit and recheck the torque.

I know a pen and checkbook is easier, but this was a challenge and fun.
I was left with a wider stance (couple inches est), the disk nuts facing inward, and my valve stems facing out.
I will see how this goes, if I need more stability, I will switch the tires to the opposite sides for the maximum stance and have the valve stems on the inside.

After a bit of waiting, I got my filters from the local (300km away) Mahindra dealer, and did my 50 hr service. Was quite easy, not bad at all. Took a morning to do all the filters and service everything. Anyways, as an anniversary gift for my wife, picked up a Tar River YCT72 forward tine tiller. What a beast! Works great! Spent about 15 hours last weekend tilling about 12 acres. Will get pics of it tomorrow.

The new tractor was delivered today and I love it! I didn't waste any time putting it to work. Once I'm done with the first project, I plan to rearrange the rear tires for a wider stance. This tractor really does it's job; everything works perfectly (as advertised). I moved more E30 (clay) in one hour than I could have moved by hand in a month!

I've been getting-by with a Honda Rancher equipped with a 48" warn snow-blade for 12 years; now the blade gets a breather and the ATV gets to go on more recreational rides.

A big thanks to Valley View Tractor in Newberg Oregon for their experience and patients. Their sincere business values and ethics are refreshing, and they really did pay attention to, and answered every question I asked.

Many of my questions originated from posts I seen here so thanks to everyone for the help.

A couple initial "mods" I was able to mount a fire extinguisher and small craftsman tool box without drilling any holes in the tractor. We'll see how they hold up to the AG tire vibration.

Delivery of my new 3016 HST is tomorrow, and I am having trouble sleeping....I have a few loose ends to tie with the new equipment.

Situation 1: Where to stow a chainsaw while moving the tractor from points A-Z.

Q: Would anyone like to share where they stow their chainsaw on the tractor?
The bucket is the obvious choice (not having the tractor yet); my deceased neighbor put his saws on the hood of his JD for 30-some years, but I want to wait until 2035 or so before I do that.

Situation 2. Skidding logs with a 60" Rankin box scraper until I get my log skidder-winch-thingy.

Q Would the center (raised) scraper-tooth be a good place to attach a hook for the chokers to set in?

Thanks in advance for any ideas!

I have been using a '52 8N for the past 6 years pulling a 6' finish mower to mow my 10 acres of slightly hilly property. After borrowing a friends Massey shuttle 3015 I decided I wanted a new tractor with a FEL so out shopping I went. I bet I shopped every brand of tractor there is to be made over a 6 month period annoying every dealer in my state driving the tractors around the parking lot etc. I decided on a Mahindra 4035 HST with FEL. I went with the HST because I am gone sometimes and the otherhalf said she would like to be able to mow if I am gone and I felt the HST would be easier for her.

I bring the tractor home and now that I have my 6' finish mower hooked up to it and start actually using it on my property going up and down my small hills this thing is the most gutless powerless thing I have ever driven. Im doing all this mowing in medium and I literally have to baby the pedal by crawling up the hills or I can literally bog the tractor down till it dies. My 8N will go up and down the hills in 2nd gear better and faster than this brand new tractor will. I was hoping to cut my 7 hours a week in mowing time down but right now its taking me longer to mow with a new tractor than my old 8N.

Is anyone else having a power issue like this? I have a whopping 32 hours on the tractor. I have called the dealer and they are scheduled to come replace a leaking fuel line (happened at 13 hours, had 10 when I bought it) that they bandaided with some rubber hose and a few hose clamps till the new line came in. They said the technician will drive it and see if he thinks there is an issue. I just cant believe there isint. I also mow about 3 acres of an elderly couples property down the road from me and when I get on the road I put it in high and there is the smallest crest in the hill and the tractor can not make it down the road past the crest in high gear unless I again baby it.

I love the size and power of the FEL but the actual tractor driving itsself around is so disappointing.

Sorry for the rant but I just cant believe that this 40 horse tractor is so sluggish.

Any suggestions??

Loader Mahindra hydraulic sensitivity

General question on the Mahindra hydraulics: Two of my neighbors have Mahindra tractors and both of them are extremely sensitive when using the front loader. By that I mean you just barely move the loader lever to make small adjustments and the thing goes into full operating capacity. This is extremely dangerous when loading/tilting or any other use of the front loader control. Has anyone on here had a similar experience with their tractor?

My thought is there should be a metering valve of some sort to regulate the pressure to the controls consistent with the amount of demand from the joy stick. Mahindra hasn't answered my emails about this problem but that's par for the course.

Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.

I haven't run the 3016 for about a month. Now that my knee has healed up pretty well, I wanted to start catching up today.
Tractor started nicely but won't go into F or R while the engine is running. If I shut the engine down, the selector arm moves into Fwd or Rev easily. Put it back in neutral and start the engine and it will not go into either F or R.

I tried adjusting the clutch linkage but it did not help. Any suggestions?

Well the dealer delivered my new 3016 on Friday night. As this is my first tractor he did spend quite a bit of time with me ensuring that I was comfortable with all of the controls. I did spend some time on Saturday and Sunday moving logs....I haven't tried the backhoe yet, but I guess that I will give it a whirl next weekend.

I have been reading many of the topics on TBN since I first started shopping for a tractor and always enjoy pictures so here is a couple of the new unit
