Hey everyone,
New to the forum. Love the site.

Bought a 2009 MF GC2610 in June. I also purchased a 60" HEAVY DUTY DOZER BLADE, HYDRAULIC ANGLING KIT, AND FRONT QUICK HITCH ATTACHMENT. My dealer keeps telling me AGCO has the attachments on back order. Now it's November. Still no attachments for my tractor. Called around to other "local dealers" (nothings local in this neck of the woods) & they too cannot order these parts or give a date as to when they can. Called AGCO & they inform me they don't even have my dealer listed as a MF dealer. Have yet to call me back.

Love the tractor but if I can't buy what I need to use it I almost wish I went with a different tractor company now. Anyone else having problems ordering these attachments for their GC2610's??

Thanks alot. Jay

Which is more expensive Hydrostatic Transmission or DynaQPS?

I'm trying to evaluate the prices that I've been given from two different dealers on a couple of tractors which are virtually identical except for the transmissions. One has the DynaQPS while the other has the Hydrostatic transmission. So which costs more?

I think that I would be equally happy with either transmission as I am used to using a lever on the column to change directions anyway, so I'd be good to go there. Plus I can change gears on the fly without clutching which would be handy as well. Lastly since even with a hydro I'd still have to stop to change ranges, I don't see that the DynaQPS would be any less easy to use. Plus I think for straight up loader work I can see some advantages to the DynaQPS as I think I'd like using the foot throttle in that case, but the differences would be negligible. So any opinions on one vs. the other? The tractor will mostly be used for mowing, with a little loader work and a little box blade work, etc. Once my new home site is set, I would likely only be using the loader for snow removal with only the occasional use as a wheelbarrow. Thanks

I've posted some other things about what tractors I am most closely looking at. I figured the 1652 that I was mostly looking at was overkill, but from the responses that I have seen it appears that even the 1648 may be more overkill than I originally anticipated. So will a 1643 with 120 FEL reliably handle all of the following?

-Run an 84" rear discharge mower while still maintaining good speed with the Air Conditioning on in the summer?

-Run a 7 foot bush hog? - Likely I would run a 6 footer but if I get a good deal on a used 7 footer I'd like to keep my options open.

-Run a 14" two bottom plow with ease?

-Run a 72" or 84" box blade with ease?

-Run a 72" front mount snowblower and/or an 84" rear snowblower?

-How big a tiller or disc could I run with a 1643 cab?

I would be running loaded R4 tires for the tractor. Also I want to be able to do these things without really working the tractor too hard, and I also want to be able to maintain a pretty quick mowing speed, as I plan on mowing 5 to 5.5 acres at least once or twice a week. I really like the 1648 because I like the lifting capacity of the bigger loader that the 1648 offers as I may end up wanting to be able to lift 1 ton pallets of wood pellets off the back of a pickup truck in the future. I realize that I may have to remove a few bags in order to accomplish this task, but I figure my chances of doing this are better with the bigger loader. Also, if I can make a little extra money doing snow removal on the side in the winter, I'd be able to load taller trucks with snow using the bigger loader that the 1643 offers. I don't think that there is too much more that I would want to do besides what was mentioned. Would the 1643 be able to do these things for me? And more importantly would it be doing it easily enough that I could expect a good long life out of the tractor? If I can pull these things off with a 1643 cab, then it just may be the best value for me that I've found.

My other quandry is that I really like the ease and convenience of the HST transmission in the 1648 and 1652, but I'm thinking that I'd probably need 35 PTO horsepower for what I want and I'd be a little short with the HST transmission on the 1643 cab. It's not like this tractor will be used primarily for loader work but I will be putting in a driveway with this tractor which will be pretty loader intensive. I will also be using this for snow removal on my driveway. Also as previously mentioned if I can make a few extra bucks doing snow removal I would use the FEL for that. Would I really miss the HST transmission much if I went with a 1643 and Power Shuttle transmission? I also looked a lot at the Kubota 4240 and was surprised that most people thought that the Kubota 4240 would be way overkill for my needs. My biggest thing is that I don't like being hot in the summer mowing the lawn so I want a tractor with a cab and AC. I know that sucks away some power for running implements and I want a big mower so that i can mow my 5.5 acres or so in as close to 2.5 hours as possible. My whole parcel is only 6.5 acres so I know that a tractor of this size is generally considered overkill for that amount of land but this is about the smallest size tractor that I can get an air conditioned cab with. Thanks in advance for your opinions and advice.

Hello new to the forum... Looking at new Massey's

The 0%-72 is a good deal and I have a dealer within an hour of me.

I am looking at the MF1523 4x4 with an FEL, 4' Bush Hog, and a 16' Trailer

Now just over the phone and I am sure this is retail. 14800 for the MF1523 4x4 Hydro and FEL. Then 1050 for a 4' bush hog with a slip clutch and around 1500 for a 16' dual axel trailer with electric brakes. I am in north west Florida.

The dealer also told me they will do the first 50 hour for free all I need to pay for is the filter?

Just wondering how you all feel about these prices and how are they dealing right now.

Thanks...

We'll be moving to a 15 acre property in northwest MA in December

We'll be moving to a 15 acre property in northwest MA in December
(assuming everything goes well w/ the closing in November), so I've
been researching mowing/tractor options. Our most immediate needs will
be mowing (3 or so acres cleared with grass, some hills/rocks/slopes,
the rest woods) and snow removal (250 ft driveway). Longer-term I will
need the loader and backhoe for working in the wooded areas, clearing,
hauling firewood, etc., and I'd like a post hole digger for fencing, etc.,
and a tiller for the garden. We currently have a walk-behind Craftsman
tiller which will probably be sufficient for the first year or so but
we expect to expand the garden over time so we'd eventually like
something quite a bit larger than the current one.

The local Massey Ferguson dealer recommended the GC 2400/2410 series
(quoted $12,900 for the 2400, $18000 for the 2410). We're looking at
$2000 for the 54" mid mount mower, $3000 or so for the snowblower and
$1900 for the tiller. I'm not sure if there's a post hole digger that
will work well with this model as the RD900 in the MF brochure is only
listed for the 1500 series.

I'm wondering if we'd be better off with the 1529 or 1532 instead. The
smaller ground clearance of the GC series might be an issue in the
woods, and the loader capacity of the 1529 is almost double that of
the GC2400. Then again I'm guessing the larger size will add at least
$6000 or so to the total price here, possibly more when the larger
attachents are taken into account as well.

In addition, it seems that the MMM might be a pain to work with --
having to remove it after mowing before heading into the woods,
etc. I'm wondering if I'd be better off with either a separate mower
(something like the cub cadet i-series which is a hybrid zero turn
mower that can also take front attachments like a snowblower and is
supposedly quite stable on hills) or a pull-behind rotary mower that
can handle grass and heavier brush, as we don't really need a
completely clean/groomed look for the grass -- so it would be able to
handle much higher grass than the MMM would. Can the 1529 handle the
5' rotary mower -- the RC500 specs say 25HP PTO min, which would
require the extra power of the 1532.

How much will the 1529 cost w/ loader? w/ backhoe? How much more is
the 1532?

It boasts the same Iseki 1.5 liter diesel engine used in the current tractors, and will be rated for 28 or 32.5 gross engine horsepower. These clean burning engines meet all EPA requirements for Tier III emissions compliance without sacrificing power or performance. The new hydrostatic transmission merges simplicity of operation with the convenience of infinite speed selection without shifting.
