Great news! Keep with the doctor's orders.

Best wishes to you!
I didn't think I was old enough to have all these problems and I felt great. My story has scared alot of people my age. The Dr. told me you are the guy that everyone stands around your visitation saying he seemed so healthy. A year ago we buried a High School buddy of mine for the same problem. I am not sure if he ignored the warning signs or maybe he didn't have any. My TIA was my only warning that I am aware of. I am so glad that I listened to my family and everyone on here about getting medical attention. I also had a great group of Doctors who gave me the very best care.

Glad to hear everything went well. Watch your diet, stay away from high cholestrol foods (ie, an egg has 250 mg, yikes!!), a little exercise and take your medication. Makes one appreciate life.

Deere755-
I am curious on how are you feeling these days? You have all the roto-rooter's done, patches and gizmo's repaired- and the surgery should be easing up some;
What is your overall health like now. Any noticable differences with all the repairs?

Doctors all say I am healing nicely and can start getting back slowly to my normal routine. I have been running the combine and the tractors a few hours a day and will be able to return to the semi on the 9th next Monday. I didn't feel bad before all this happened or at least I didn't think I did. I seem to have more energy and I don't seem to be so short of breath like I did before surgery. I have to be a little careful still about lifting things as I can still feel a pull in my chest. The surgeon told me my breast bone would be awhile healing. Overall I am feeling great.

I finally got my butt in gear and got to the family doctor for an annual physical and bloodwork partly in response to this thread. Bad cholesterol was 5 points high and good cholesterol was 3 points low. Otherwise I got a clean bill of health. I've been eating more whole grains (cheerios for breakfast and my wife's been adding oats to muffins, breads, biscuits and the like) and fish to try to swing the cholesterol in the right direction.

dooleysm, flax oil is also very good for lowering bad cholesterol and raising the good. It tastes ok, but I usually swig about an ounce to ounce and a half in the mornings so I can wash it down with my coffee. The hot coffee helps to dissolve the oily coating in your mouth after the flax oil. That and 10mg of Crestor keep me in line.
