Start of a long loving project

This past weekend my cousin and I made the long drive to Grafton West Virginia to retrieve a piece of family history. Our gandpa used this Ford 8N tractor on his working farm for as long as either of us has been alive. We believe it is either a 1949 or 1952 production year, and grandpa bought it sometime in the late 50's or early 60's.

Here we are loaded up and ready to head out on the long drive back to Illinois.

Another picture of us ready to go. That is gramma and grandpas house in the background. Gramma is going to be 84 in September and she is still full of love and life. Grandpa passed away in June '87.

Here we have arrived back in town at my cousins house. He couldn't resist driving the tractor around his block once we backed it off the trailer. Yes, it runs! After grandpa passed away, the tractor sat idle for a number of years, and then my dad used it for simple brush hoggin around the farm.

Here you can see that we also brought back the original two bottom plow grandpa used.

Here we have moved the tractor into the shop where it will spend the next couple years while undergoing a complete factory restoration.
