Cub Lo-Boy intermittent misfire

If it isn't used much I suspect the distributor cap, points and rotor. Moisture can condense inside the cap and cause all kinds of problems.
I have an M with a loader that gets used 3 or 4 times during the summer and more often in the winter to plow snow. It gets all new ignition parts everyother year, otherwise I'm chasing problems just like you are now.

I've been using the tractor in some heavy grass and it continues to run perfectly. I couldn't quite bring my self to smoke up the place with the ATF as suggested by Soundguy, but I split a pint of Seafoam between the gas tank and crankcase. Going to do a oil/filter change this weekend.

I think it may have been a stuck valve. I'll let you know if the problem returns.

Thanks,
