Here's a question for those of you who have rebuilt a Farmall.
How important is the lead washer on the connecting rod bolts? Shouldn't the lock washer be sufficient to keep the bolt from coming loose?
And how important is the wire on the main cap bolts?
I'm thinking these only protect the parts from coming completely off if there is a failure, but really don't do anything to help maintain torque.
