I dont know squat about old tractors but tonight I saw a gut hauling a Farmall 130 down the road. It was pretty slick looking. In fact it looked like the worlds first Cut. Anyone have one of Theese ? I just curious what years they were made and how many ponies were under the hood. Dave

The Farmall 130 was manufactured 1956-1958. The tractor replaced the 100 which replaced the Super A. Drawbar hp is 19.91 from a four cylinder 123 cu.in. engine. The tractor weighs 3015 lbs. The 130 was replaced by the 140 in 1958. The production run for the 140 was 1958-1979.

Professor told it well, excepting the standard "A" got it's start in 1939. It was built to compete with the AC "B". Note the toque tube design. IH copied it from AC, and payed royalties for years.

The Farmall Cub looks about the same, but is smaller.

I have a '41 Farmall-A. She's about 22hp, with 19 on the PTO.

No art but I can definately see that one of those would certainly be a lot of fun to restore. I'd imagine they would be just the ticket for the person with a garden that likes to tinker under a shade tree /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif Dave

The old tractors were simpistic enough we have many people repairing them as well as restoring. The main manufacturers have done a good job of keeping parts in the systems to keep them going at 50 plus years old.

McCormick Farmall 130 Gasoline
1956-1958
22.23-19.91 hp @1400 rpm,3 1/8'x4"
123 cu in 4 cylinder International Harvester engine
4 forward gears,2.3 to 10 mph
10.57 hp hr/gal; 3015lbs.

Replaced the Model 100

Growing up we had a Farmall 140 and that is what I learned to drive on. It was a good tractor,I mowed a lot of pasture fields and fed a lot of Black Angus cattle off a trailer we pulled behind it. I often thought I would like to buy another one.Brings back a lot of memories. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Nope, my first tractor driving experience was on a 1940 John Deere Llike this one. And some of the statistics can be found here.
