This tractor has been in my family since new. I can't tell whether it is an M or H or what year. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm getting read to start on the refurbishment

I think it's a M, but I have limited knowledge on the matter.

I tried to look up the serial number and I couldn't figure that out. Can you give me advice on the sn research

I don't think the H serial numbers convey any info other than year of manufacture.

OK. I'm getting ready to start ordering parts. Is there any thing I can do like measure the unit against the specs? Will that work or are the M and H similar

Doing some google detective work it seems the H has 18" frame rail width and the M has 20".

OK, based on measurements and serial number research from yalls input, it is confirmed to be a late 1940 H. You guys are awesome
