Re: looking at older tractor

I have an old farmall super M and enjoy it. They are well built and easy to work on. You might find yourself driving one in a parade if you really get into them. LOL.

That being said its' probably the most dangerous piece of equipment I own so I am careful when using it. Getting caught in the PTO or falling off the seat are a couple of easy ways to get hurt on these things.

Re: looking at older tractor

Restored in perfect shape vs rusty sitting in a barn, huge price difference.

Barn find, runs and works, $1500 and up...

That's just from a quick look at Tractorhouse.com. You should check it out for reference.

I spent a good bit of time on one of those 20 years ago... super basic tractor, felt like driving a dinosaur after growing up on dad's mf135.

The shape it's in and what older tractors sell for in YOUR area is EVERYTHING!!

Re: looking at older tractor

Probably was a tobacco cultivating tractor back in the day. $800 to $1500 would be my best guess on value in your area. There are still quite a few in Tn and Ky. Ken Sweet

Re: looking at older tractor

They were popular as a road tractor for our local Germen Baptist. Now most are using New Holland tractors pulling a trailer with a Bobcat on it.

Re: looking at older tractor

I paid $1300 about 7 years ago for a 1951 Farmall Super A with mid-mount sicklebar mower and rear blade. It had an aftermarket 3 point hitch. Tires were in excellent condition. I bought it from a guy who works for Caltrans who bought it from work where it was used to mow highway ROW. He used it for a few years on his ranch.

Good luck
