After changing my ring and pinion and getting everything back together, my brakes now squeak, it is a wet brake. The rear sat dry for close to 5 months when I was chasing parts and getting it together. I bought the oil from the dealer I bought the tractor from and he said it was the right stuff. He said the disc dried out and run it for awhile and it should get better. I have put about an hour on it and it has been filled and together for a week. Still squeaks. Did this when new too, but I remember it started out with 80/90 in it and factory came out with a TSB to change to hydraulic/ wet brake oil all was fine after that change out. Any ideas or thought on it getting better after a bit or should I start looking somewhere else.

If a brake discs rides in oil, their should be no noise coming from them. I'm thinking that there might be pressure on them. Are you sure that they floated on the shaft freely. Having the axles out to replace the ring and pinion, did everything fit free going back together? Do they work properly? trac

Yes, the brakes work properly except for the squeak, they are not dragging or anything. I just pulled the whole brake housing off the trumpet so I did net even mess with the brakes. I also only pulled left side off and both squeak. How much oil should come out of the oil line to the brakes when I pull it off. It did not seem to be under much pressure when I pulled it off with the tractor running, but oil did come out.

The oil level should be the same height in the brake disc area, as the level on the stick for the tranny and diff.. Some of the castings were designed to trap a little more oil in the brake disc area. I did hear of other dealers with some noise issues in the Escort tractors, but I don't recall a fix for it. Might try adding a little more oil to raise the level more, to see if the noise goes away.

We had an issue when we bought it and the dealer changed the oil and it went away. I checked the oil yesterday and it was at least 1/2 gallon low so filled it, but I have not tried it yet due to the rain. Aren't the tranny and rear separated. I do not have a dipstick in the rear just a check plug and it is about a third the way up the brake housing. Will try when it dries out and post back.
Thanks for the input I appreciate it alot.
