New here w/ Ford 861
Trading up from a 49 8n. Excited about live PTO and twice the HP. Losing a loader though...

Re: New here w/ Ford 861
if ya got a torch and welder, you can likely keep the loader.
a 861 is worth a handfull of 8n'sgreat machine...
that 5spd almost acts like a non sync shuttle with 3/R on top...

Re: New here w/ Ford 861
I would keep the loader but it's a trade deal. Maybe I can find a used one somewhere.

Re: New here w/ Ford 861
Thanks for the welcome.
On further inspection, I think it's an 860---not a 861. The hood says 861 powermaster but the stamped numbers behind the starter are 860-L and 126111 (with the 26 stamped lightly and the 1's stamped deep). Which tells me it's a 1957 860.
I'm guessing it was propane at one time and converted over at some point to gas and the hood was changed. Does anyone know if there are any issues or concerns with this type of conversion?
