Tractor
Ford 4150
I have what I think is a 4140 tractor. It's buff/blue in color. It has a bucket on the front model #712. By the starter is a hand stamped number b50 under that is <>4921<> .The rear-end is CONN4024F on the passenger side I found the # 310809 The transmission is NDA7006B Ane the rear axle has the number CONN4012E. With those numbers can anyone tell me for sure what type of tractor I have and what size engine is in it. The engine is a 4 cylinder diesel and the pistons are 3 7/8" wide. Appreciate any help I can get as I have to rebuikd the motor.

There should be a model code and serial number somewhere around the starter.

Those #s you list by the starter are probably them, by just don't seem right.

I know tractor data.com isn't all inclusive, but they don't list a 4140. What leads you to believe that is what it is?

Could it be a 1954 - 650 (b50) ????? Pictures would help some. If it is it would be a 134 cid.

i missed it too.. I just looked at the pics.

if it is a diesel.. it's a 59+ model meaning an 01 model.

and that also means it's only options are 144ci and 172 ci

The reason I think it's a 4140 is that, from what I have found out, a 4140 and a 1801 are the same except the 1801 has cable steering and the 4140 doesn't. So far I think mine is a 4140 HD Industrial tractor, The bucket is a Model 712. Think it had a back hoe because there is no PTO shaft. Found a # on the engine block 310609 which I think shows it's a 172 diesel. The piston sleeve is 4 1/4".On the transmission is # 7006B. Not sure what that # means but it is a 5 speed. (4-2-3 up 5-1-R down) The rear axle is marked CONN4912E and the rear-end is marked CONN4021F. Checked the motor again and all I can find is, behind the starter is either b50 or 650. One book said they used the "b" as a "b" "6" or "9". below that number is <>4921<> . The bucket was yellow but painted over blue, The tractor is blue with gray fenders. Thanks for the advice and comments. With your help maybe I can figure out what it is. Thanks again Ron.
