long story short I was pushing a a little pile of dirt over with my loader and the tractor stopped, without warning. No gears (forward or backwards) but I have Hydraulics .

So my question is Are the Hydraulics hooked to the clutch?
I drained all the gear oil out nothing in it, didn't look too bad.

are the hyds hooked to the clutch?

everything is hooked to the clutch.

you have an input shaft after the clutch.. this feeds the tranny.

tranny has 2 outputs. the pinion gear for the rear end, and the pto coupler.

if you have hyds, then power is getting to the tranny, just not to the rear end.

most likely causes for no rear movement are:

sheared / stripped pinion to trans coupler hollow tube.

sheared rivits/bolts on the ring gear .

broke broke axle/sheared splines hub/axle

If it has a Sherman transmission, it could be in neutral. ??

last 4 words of the first sentence ont he first post:

but I have Hydraulics .

he has hyds. main trans -**IS**- getting power.

sherman replaces the input shaft for the main trans.

if main trans IS getting power, sherman IS transmitting power, and thus NOT in neutral.

if you don't have a service and parts manual, email me and I will send you a pdf of the trans gear exploded diagram and part numbers.
