It could be anything from head gasket to cracked block. (overheated)
Will it turn over or is it locked up?
I had a 8-N some years ago that I bought and dragged it out of the woods.
It had water in the engine from spark plug washer rotting and letting water pool and run into the cylinder and on down.
The good news was these engines use liners and with the head off the piston and liner came right up when I turned the crank.
They are easy to work on.
