Re: HELP PLEASE- Ford 1910 - ANTIFREEZE IN THE OIL- HEAD GASKET
I had a chance to run the tractor. The top radiator hose gets warm and so does the small bypass, but the lower radiator hose does not.

Bad thermostat? The gauge does not work. What do you think?

Should I go to the dealer for a thermostat and gauag?

What is the best way way to test the temp. Sending unit and the temp. gauge?

Thanks for the info.......I appreciate it

I'm assuming that I have to go through the dealer if purchasing the gauge and sending unit.....I haven't seen them online for the 1910?

What temperature thermostat goes in the 1910?

Are you checking these hoses after idling or after you have worked the tractor a bit? Does make a difference.

I tested mine by removing it...connecting the wire and grounding it then warmed it with Bic lighter...worked fine...

How long does it take for the oil to go gray? If it was just weather related I would think it would take a very long time. Go to a auto zone or some place that has loaner tools and do a pressure test on the radiator.

A non contact infrared thermometer would be a great tool to use here.

It only takes a short time to go from clear to cloudy.

Unless you have a sealed hyd system, there will be condensation.

It does not take much water to make the fluid milky/gray/cloudy.

If you could drain the water before you ran the engine and hyd pump, you could avoid the mixing, called emulsification.

If you use your tractor real hard every day, you can perhaps cook off some of the moisture.

There are water absorbing filters.

Do the crackle test often to see if there is water in the hyd fluid.

Not only does the water cause rust, other chemicals compounds are made with the continuous use of the fluid.
