I have a similar edger made by Stihl, that fits on their Kombi system, but it looks very similar to the unit that fits on your string trimmer motor. Mine works great. I think the larger rolling type edger is overkill. I would try the hand held version. I am very pleased with my Stihl. Of course I also use my string trimmer for light edging also, but the bladed version cuts deeper if you have thick soil and a mass of roots overgrown the walk and it cuts straighter because of its guide edge.

I totally agree with HJCTRACTOR. I also have a Stihl Kombi, and the edger is awesome. I particularly like the control I have when cutting on curves. I'd never go back to a standalone edger.

I use the tiller attachment in hard, rocky soil and it works great. So the edger attachment will be more than powerful enough. I have the edger attachment too ($5 clearance a few years back) but I've never used it.
