the hydros can be tough going downhill. if you let off
the pedal to slow down or stop, and the tractor doesn't
have the traction available to do so, then you just keep
on going. brakes aren't going to help at this point. sometimes
i found mashing that hydro pedal back down to re-engage the
transmission with the moving wheels can regain some more
control, then try easing back on that pedal.
one of the upgrades in that L118 was the wider 10" rear
tire, which in this case of loose driveway material may be
a hinderance to you. the standard 8" wide tire may help, and
like others said, loading them or wheel weights may also help
gain some extra traction.
if the driveway is this steep, isn't there parts of the lawn that
are similar? don't you have the same problem going down damp
or wet grass while mowing?
