Okay so on my backhoe/ riding mower. I have an 18hp Briggs and stratton engine.
I got the code off of it and was just wondering if I decoded the date of mfg right?
The code is
88110712
From looking at the code, I'm assuming it was made on 11-07-1988.
So if that's right the engine is older than I thought. I thought it was only about 10 years old, but if that engine was made in the year 88 "Year I was born" then the engine is close to my age.
I'm 23 and if I'm correct the engine is 22 years old.
I was born March 8th 1988.
The engine runs strong and the only thing I had to do was replace spark plugs and clean carb.
A briggs has never failed me and this is no exception.
If I have to buy a new engine, it's definitely gonna be another Briggs.
