Found this wriggler in a dirt pile today....hate wacking the local critters, but due to it being the most venomous snake in North America, and their fondness of visiting the inside of your house, a little beheading was in order. Over 2 ft. long...pretty big for a coral snake....

red next to yellow kill a fellow is how I was taught to identify a coral snake

Yeah...keep in mind there was another 4" where I lopped his head off. Not an aggressive snake...have a hard time biting. Unfortunately most people get it in the bare foot. They love shoes...

That is big for a coral have seen only two on my property, and they were no where's near that size.
might wanna change phrase too :" Red and yellow be-head the fellow" !
Keep a sharp eye out for the rest of it's kin . :(
