I own 180 acres , mostly timber. I mow about 10 acres of clearings. I've been using my 2 year old L5240HSTC with a rear finish mower. I'd rather not be piling up the hours on it so I'm looking for a used front mower. There's an old Kubota '99 F3060 with 4WD available not far from me . I think I need the 4wd because I mow 1 dam and a couple of the clearings are across a "canyon" which gets real greasy after a rain. This machine has 2000 hours and they're asking $5900 for it. It's diesel so the engine hours don't worry me. Anyone out there that has experience with these mowers? Is it likely worn out? I can tolerate some repair, which with that many hours it will likely require. Anyone know if the rear drive is driven mechanically or hydraulically? Am I just looking for a major headache?
