Default Re: torque specs for B&S 12.5

Let's see if i got this straight:

First two digits indicate displacement/ 28 cubic inches.

Third digit/letter indicates design series/V

Fourth digit indicates/vertical crankshaft, Flo-jet carberator and mechanical governor.

Fifth digit indicates/plain bearing

Sixth digit indicates/Electric starter-12 volt gear drive, with alternator.

Type number identifies unique features such as the crankshaft(output shaft size) or governor springs used on that engine.

The code number indicates assembly date and manufactoring plant.

year.........month...........day............assy. line and plant......
01 ......... 08 ............. 08 ...................... 01..................

Found my old Briggs book,
Head torque 165 "lbs
Rod cap 185 "lbs
Sump bolts 140 "lbs

........................Head torque sequence.............................

.................................... TOP........................................

................................3 .............. 2...............................

...........................5 ......................... 8.........................

.............................7 *........... @....6.............................

...............................1*................. ..4...........................
.........................................9*....... ...............................

* Long bolts
@ Spark plug hole
. Ignore these, (who needs a scanner)
