I hope someone can help me. I'm interested in buying a used lawn or garden tractor. I was considering 2 Cubs a 95 2185 gear driven trans with a snow blower and a 99 2185 hydro. The 95 cost is only 300 more but the blower is a plus. I'm just concerned about the gear trans verses the hydor trans. I was also considering a 94 White LT 2055 with a snow blower no mower. It looks like new because it was only used for snow and garaged. The owner told me I can easly pick up a new or used mower for the White and the mower and blower are shaft driven it also has a 3 point hitch. Any insight would be greatly appriciated.

Based upon years of experience with both gear and hydro, I firmly believe Hydro is the way to go, especially for running a snow blower. It gives you the ability to instantly, contantly, and easily adjust your ground speed to match snow conditions.

Sorry I misinformed you on the 95 Cub gear trans, it's a 2160 not a 2185. I don't know what the difference is from the 2160 to the 2180 or 2185 maybe someone can help me. Does anyone have any information on the White, I'm concerned parts will be hard to find. I'm sure the dealer won't tell me that or he'll try his best to get me the parts but I'll pay out the wazoo if you know what I mean.
