    Thanks for clarifying the year, I might have known that a long time ago. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img] I got mine over 10 years ago, and rebuilt/replaced bearings, so I first thought it was that. I will try a JD-original belt as the easiest next step and again re-check everything as I do the install. I am going right by the manual every step, so yes belt tension was with the deck up. I can't say if the issue started with a change to non-JD belts or not, but if the answer is that easy, I'm in!

    Can't speak to the 300 series but the 216's were famous for flipping over if the tensioner wan't lined up properly

    Sorry for the delay, I've had a tough time trying to log in. My woes are over, a rela JD belt is mowing just fine, Thnaks for the help!
