Are you sure it is a 11 tooth gear? What volt is it 6 or 12?

In a search i can find many Lucas M45G starters that were used on Internastional tractors but they are 10 tooth.

E-mail: NQS12@aol.com ask them if this starter will fit your tractor.

Part No.509202 IHC OE# 3046890-R93, Lucas OE# 26193, 26288, 27420, Lester No: 16660

thanks for the input fellas my neighbor had an armature for it we threw that in and i'm back in action . it is a 12 volt 11 tooth . i counted that gear about 15 times trying to turn it into a 10 tooth but had no luck . Did they produce this tractor in the states too ? or just England ?

thanks for your help don . now i know it is a 1959 gonna try and find a manuel for it and get the glow plugs working . it's the most miserable starting tractor i've seen . even if the long range weather forecast calls for a cloud it hates to start . This problem led to my starter problem . Thanks again

I ordered one for my B-275 from DB Electrical. My old Lucas has 11 teeth, and the replacement has 10. I've been reassured that it will fit.

If it doesn't, I'll post here, after I yell at the boys from Tennessee

that will be really good to know for the future

I posted this in another forum, and since I think it's valuable, I'm putting it here, too.

I run old (1980) mercedes diesels, and the B-275 glow plugs are identical to the older loop type glow plugs. Same large M18 thread, series wired, slow glow time.

Bosch Glow Plug

I also run later model (1985) benzes. These have the pencil type glow plugs for the later type benz engines, which are small M-12 thread, parallel wired, fast glow, and kits can be found with the larger thread base to convert to the older engines.

I suggest anyone who is thinking of replacing glow plugs to investigate the Bosch Benz plugs. The older ones are a direct replacement.

With a little wiring change, you could use the pencil type units, and maybe spring for the whole upgrade kit with the push button, etc.

Anyone out there run into this idea? The older type benz plugs sure are cheaper, and the upgrade to the pencil types work so much better. The later parallel system works if one burns out. The old ones usually don't.
