Default oswald

I own a L1501 I ordered a owners manual for a L185 they are very simular but my L1501 has two pto shifters?the one next to my gear shifter has 1st 2nd 3rd but I also have one just behind the gear shifter that has 1st 2nd 3rd 4th high nutural & low which the L185 does not show there is just a plate there.What does this pto slector do or what is it for.trying to figuer out what gear or pto speed to run my 4foot brush hog in? any help woul be very helpfull.

Hi Oswald I had a L2201 that had a similiar setup. These tractors were designed for tilling hence the multi speed pto. I cant remember exactly how mine was but I do know that the lowest gear is supposed to be 540 rpm which is what I would stick to when running your brush hog since thats what they were designed to run at. I ran a 6' finish mower on mine at a higher speed and ruined the belt on the mower. Gerry
