My L1500 always had a lot of play in either direction, then today it quit turning, like something broke. after turning the steering wheels several times to, it stops the right it would turn a little but you can turn it 10 turns to left and it stops. Anyone ever had the steering box off or had any luck finding parts for this old Kubota? Like everyone I don't wont put much in it, tires are all slick, everytiing is well worn but it still runs good enough to leave in the field with a bush hog hooked up.

You should be able to get a rebuild kit or replacement steering shaft/box/gears (Depending on what has broken) from a local Kubota dealership for an L175 machine. The L175 is the US market variant of the L1500, and shares the same steering box, along with most other components.

The lower bearing probably went out & eventually the ball/nut assembly tubes got bent. We can supply parts & rebuild steering boxes.
