Drum vs Disc cutter?.... Lou

I m downsizing most of my equipment this year also I have written most of it off.. taxes,, I been using Kuhn or krone disc cutters 10',7' for the past few years before that used sickle cutters mostly Ford,, but I m thinking about going with a drum cutter,, 6ft, Here is the question has anyone used a drum cutter and what did you like or didnt like? I can buy two drum for the price of one 7ft Kuhn.. thanks Lou

I have a 6ft one, vermeer by PZ. It is very rugged, only gripe is the weight and transport position.

Thanks Guys,, the one I am looking at is a 73 inch cut with hydraulic lift on it,, sell for about four thousand dollars..weights about 1000 pounds.. I will be keeping my 7ft krone for a back up just in case.. Lou

Ken the SFI stand for Small Farms implements or innovation don't remember which,, they are out of Caldwell Texas,, the equipment is more than likely made (this is a quess)in Korea or China,, Lou

Come to think of it.. Phil may make them him self.. he has a large machine shop and I know he make some of the equipment that he sells,, I never asked.. two year warranty on this equipment..
